Originally published in 1963, this winemaking book has been specially compiled by world expert Mrs. Gennery-Taylor for simplicity and economy. It is intended for the ordinary housewife or perhaps her husband, who wish to make a few bottles for home consumption or for giving to friends.
There are simple home-brewed recipes which have stood the test of years, and the ingredients can be easily found in garden and field. They do not use modern cheats of grape juice concentrate. It's good, old-fashioned country winemaking. No expensive equipment is required. All you need is a large saucepan or preserving pan, an earthenware or china bowl, and some bottles with corks.
Easy to Make Wine is a good starting point for people who have never made wine before: it teaches the basics and explains everything you will need to know to start your winemaking, and it contains lots of easy-to-follow recipes for you to try. For expert winemakers, the book is a good reference on winemaking tips and recipes.
