Originally published in 1930 by the L. S. Starrett Company, the World's Greatest Toolmakers, this Vol.3 of The Starrett Books provides information for the Motor Machinist and Auto Repairman that is comparable with that offered to the Apprentice Machinist by Vol.1 and the Journeyman Machinist by Vol.2.

The book does not deals with specific motor troubles or the peculiarities of particular makes or models of cars, nor includes any shop "kinks", hints on "trouble shooting", etc. On the contrary, the text has been confined to such subjects as would aid the man in the service station or repair shop in gaining a better understanding of the uses, methods of operation and the value of machine and precision tools.
